Structure of the Business Team
The Department of Economy of the municipality of Maastricht consists of a policy making pillar and an executive pillar. The Business Team is one of the teams within the executive pillar. This team is responsible for the established companies and the international character of Maastricht.
The Business Team consists of three important departments, namely the business contact point, the department of business account management and the department of acquisition. The business contact point takes care of the communication between companies and the municipality. The business account manager is the contact person between the municipality and the 100 largest companies. The canvasser deals with attracting new companies to locate in Maastricht. The Business Team, however, has to deal with more activities, namely lobbying, city marketing and internationalization. The Business Team keeps in contact with the companies located in Maastricht, by organizing events, visiting meetings and setting up projects.
